Jonathan Wilkinson Sheffield Artist
We are delighted to feature Sheffield based artist Jonathan Wilkinson in our very first Sheffield creative people section, we are very happy to be showcasing his very distinctive artwork.
We have been admirers of his work for a long time and just love his architectural style often utilising either a duo-tone or muted colour pallet to give a very striking graphically based piece of art.
His work has its roots heavily based in Sheffield including pieces featuring The Crucible Theatre, the iconic Tinsley Cooling Towers, Park Hill Flats and the famous Roxy Night Club (now the Sheffield O2) among others.
Brightstar’s Darren Pass commented “The first time I saw Jonathan’s work was in a gallery on Sharrow Vale Road, and I remember standing for a good 10 minutes staring at the wonderfully nostalgic images from my youth such as the Roxy and the various 70’s built Flats”.
I have since bought the “Rinse and Return” print featuring the maisonettes, unfortunately the original had been sold, I will also be sending a print across to my brother in California this christmas so he can also reminisce.”
Jonathan has a wide range of work available as various size prints, Greeting Cards, Postcards and some very inventive gifts on his website We Live Here (Click Here).
Here are just 4 of our favourite pieces of Jonathan’s art.
He also accepts commissions for suitable projects.
